Rutger is this year's Chairperson of the SOG Faction. As Faction Chair, Rutger meets with the presidium of the council bi-weekly to discuss current affairs in all factions. He also meets with the CvB for the agenda-setting meeting. He is also the contact person for USVA, KEI and ESN. He is also the contact person for all external organizations who want to know more about the SOG Faction.

Rutger is also responsible for national affairs. He holds the ISO portfolio and travels to Utrecht thrice a month to represent SOG and RUG interests. 

Currently Rutger is enrolled in the Master Politics, Organizations and Learning History, after finishing the BA American Studies. He is actively involved in EPU, and was Faction chair of Letteren Vooruit and Treasurer of the 34th board of EPU. 

In his spare time, Rutger enjoys thrifting, collecting vinyls and brewing coffees.
