SOG is a organisation, comprised of a party and an association, that has been advocating for the interests of Groningen’s active students since 1972. Deeply rooted in student life, SOG offers the perfect opportunity to boost your career without leaving the vibrant university community.

As a Board member, you will ensure that the long-term goals of SOG are achieved and organise activities that align with SOG’s mission. You’ll work alongside the Faction, the Committees, and other student organisations in Groningen to advocate the interests of the students of the RUG.

What we’re looking for:

• Chair

• Secretary

• Treasurer

• Commissioner of Internal Affairs

• Commissioner of External Relations

• Commissioner of Public Relations

What you’ll do:

• Lead an organisation with more than 50 years of experience in Groningen’s student life

• Advocate for student interests in collaboration with other student representatives

• Maintain close contact with the SOG Faction and Committees

• Build a professional network within the University and the city of Groningen

• Develop teamwork, gain unique work experience, and expand your knowledge about politics and policy-making

Are you…?

• An active RUG student who is passionate about student life in Groningen

• Available for a part-time (approx. 10-14 hours/week) board year in the 2026-2027 academic year

• Fluent in Dutch and/or English
